Our Featured Author - K.F. Stewart
Let us introduce our friend K.F. Stewart to you today. We first met her in the outbacks of south-central Tennessee when she rescued two strangers from the side of the road. (That was us, folks!) In the time we stayed with her, she showed the greatest of kindness and compassion for us as we tried to get a way back to our home in Kentucky. As she would tell us, it was divinely inspired that two book lovers should be picked up by a writer of books. She had just completed the publication of her first major book.
Twenty-One Gun Salute is the very personal story of her five years of sexual abuse as a child by her step-grandfather. As the title suggests, his death and honorable burial at Arlington did not end the misery instilled in her. It followed her through life until an amazing experience cleansed her and gave her the strength to now help others who have undergone such betrayal from trusted elders.
The (Disc)Worlds of Terry Pratchett
Terry Pratchett himself sums it up best:
"The world rides through space on the back of a turtle. This is one of the great ancient world myths, found wherever men and turtles are gathered together; the four elephants were an indo-European sophistication. The idea has been lying in the lumber room of legend for centuries. All I had to do was grab it and run away before the alarms went off."
the Literary Legend
"Since learning to read nearly half a century ago, I have found only one writer who could keep me so fascinated that I can reread his books over and over.
Therefore, my"Lifetime Favorite Author Award" goes to The Honorable Sir Terry Pratchett".
