Position Personalized

By Miles Stanford

Identifying you with His Son on the Cross, the Father not only raised you from the dead to walk in newness of life, but He positioned you in the Lord Jesus at His right hand--the right hand of fellowship. "Hath made us alive together with Christ...and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Eph. 2:5,6)....

There is nothing left for you to do but acknowledge what the Lord Jesus has already done: His shed Blood has cleared the way into the Holiest for you, and His presence has traversed the way with you. "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the Blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh, and having an high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith" (Heb. 10:19-22).

There is no time like the present for you to being resting in His presence. Your Father sees you there, in His beloved Son. It is a simple, scriptural matter of seeing yourself there "in full assurance of faith." You are there before the Father, not in the flesh, not in the body, but as a "new creation" in Christ Jesus....

Fellowship between you and your Father involves oneness, a commonality. As you in faith occupy your position, you find yourself not only in His presence, but in His nature--the human-divine nature of your re-birth. You are there in the full acceptance of His beloved Son. And that is what you are: beloved of God. "We are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation" (II Thess. 2:13).

Your part for now is to quietly sit where you have been seated by God--and that is in His presence. You occupy your position by faith in the facts; you will experience the fellowship as the Spirit prepares you....

The Holy Spirit establishes you in your realization of close proximity to God before He cultivates you for close fellowship with God. You are before the Father in Christ eternally, and that position is immutable. Your "citizenship is in heaven" (Phil. 3:20)--you have the right to be there, and the nature to be there. And, "where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" (Matt. 6:21)....

It is there, in the presence of the Father, abiding above by faith, that you will come to know personal love and life. It was the Lord Jesus' prayer that you might be loved of the Father as He is. "I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them" (John 17:26).
